The aim of this lesson is to learn the classical Proportions of the head and use this as a standard to observe how the subject differs.  Once we understand the proportions of the head its easy to see the distinguishing characteristics of each persons face.

Following an introduction to comparative measurements using the three dividing lines of the head (as seen below) as units of measurement, to compare the width and height of the head and smaller features, we copied an Andrew Loomis diagram from a front side and three quarter view.

We then applied these principles when working from life.
